Requested: Dramatic Winged Eyeshadow Pictorial

Makeup, Requested, Tutorial

I did this one in purple so it would show up better.

I hope this is helpful, I’ve only made one other pictorial. 😛 ❤

I always do my brows first, so when I get to my wings I know where they should go. Put down a layer of skin tone eyeshadow to help with blending, then add warm brown colors to your crease and blend out really well. Use a large angled brush to mark the outside line of the wing, and then sweep it in toward the center of your face. Alternating black with the purple, darken and build up the colors. Use a color that is close to your skin tone and blend out the harsh outside lines.

Pick a color you think will look nice blended next to the dark color and add it to your lid and blend. With the other side of that brush add the skin tone color from earlier to the inner corners. Build the colors until you’re happy with it!
Tightline, mascara, lashes and finish the rest of the face!

I added some glitter to mine, like I do with my gradient nail art to help the transition. I used my finger, and Urban Decay Space Cowboy Moondust Eyeshadow. I only put it on the inside 2/3 of my eyes!

I didn’t go as high up with this one as I did in the original post, I’ve been sick the last couple days and just didn’t notice. All you have to do is carry it up closer to your brow, or lower if you prefer!

    1. Somtimes, I did a couple for Halloween, nothing special. I have a couple posts on here of some I did. I get together with some photographer friends of mine when I can.

I’ve actaully been thinking a lot lately about branching out and doing more on other people! This blog has really helped with that!

      1. One day, I wanna do makeup for people. I need to keep working at it though and work on getting out of my comfort zone!! No problem, talent always needs noticing!

      2. It’s super scary, I forget to breathe because I don’t want to breathe in their face… LOL!!
The blogging is sooo nice for a comfort zone push, I went from not wanting to post on my Instagram to posting my face all over the internet a couple times a week!

  1. I’m gunna try this out and hope it is as simple as you make it look! Thanks for doing the tutorial request 🙂
